Chisom Oke-Chinda is a Lawyer and Consultant on International Children’s Rights. She has particularly worked with government towards the fulfilment of their obligations to the child.
She is the Principal Consultant of Sceptre and Prima Legal Consulting, a specialist Firm centred on the rights of the child. Chisom participated in the drafting of key legal instruments concerning the child including the Rivers State Child Rights Law
2022.
She is committed to seeing duty bearers succeed in their responsibilities to the child and has in this cause worked. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators with an Advanced Master’s Degree in International Children’s Rights from the University of Leiden, Netherlands.
In addition to her role as Principal Consultant at Sceptre and Prima, Chisom also currently serves as:
– Chief Whip of the Nigerian Association of Family Court Judges, Magistrates and Other Practitioners;and
– Assistant Secretary of the Family Law and Human Rights Committee, Nigerian Bar Association, Section on Legal Practice
Florence Koenderink has been involved in alternative care, in low and middle-income countries for 17 years.
Currently she is an independent consultant in child protection and alternative care reform, and founder of Family-Based Solutions (www.familybasedsolutions.org).
Work with children with disabilities was part of most of the projects she has been involved in over many years. She has worked for UNICEF, SOS Children’s Villages, Eurochild, and various grassroots organisations in China, India, Brazil and Kenya, and has published nine books and various other publication. Among the books is ‘Understanding the Trauma of Institutionalised Children. To support the child you adopt.’
