CALL FOR PAPERS
The Journal of Children’s Rights and Family Law (CRFLJ) calls for well-researched papers for publication in its maiden edition (Volume 1, No. 1, August 2026). The journal aims to promote scholarly and professional discussion in Child Rights and Family Law. The CRFLJ is a peer-reviewed journal that provides a platform for legal scholars, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and students to present original research, legal analyses, and critical commentaries on current issues in children’s rights law and family law.
Priority will be given to the following cross-cutting themes:
1. Child Justice
2. Digital Rights: Cyberbullying, Online Exploitation, Privacy, Image Rights, AI & Children
3. Custody standards
4. Parentage and Identity (Surrogacy, Assisted Reproduction, etc.)
5. Child maintenance
6. Guardianship
7. Domestic Violence
8. Inheritance and Property
9. Religion and Customary Law
10. Gender & Intersectionality
11. Access to Justice
12. Impact of Plural Legal Systems
13. Faith and Law
14. Policy Evaluation in the Areas of Children’s Rights and Family Law
15. Climate Displacement and Family Law
MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Manuscripts should be original, and it is the responsibility of the author(s) to ensure that they do not offend copyright laws.
Manuscripts must be written in English, following British spelling and grammatical standards.
Manuscripts must not have been previously accepted for publication or published in other journals.
Manuscript should be typed in Microsoft Word format in Times New Roman font size 12 with 1.5 line spacing in font size 10 in the footnotes.
Manuscript should not exceed the following word limits (excluding footnotes):
(a) Full research manuscripts: 6000 words
(b) Shorter papers: 3500 words
(c) Case and statutory reviews: 2,000 words
Manuscripts should also have an abstract of 150-250 words (indented on both sides) and should contain the essential elements of a quality abstract with a maximum of 5 keywords.
Contributors are to strictly abide by the NALT Uniform Citation Guide or OSCOLA (4th edition, 2012) numbered seriatim at the bottom of each page.
Cover page must include:
(a) Title of the paper
(b) Full name(s) of the author(s)
(c) Institutional affiliation(s)
(d) Email and phone number(s) of the author(s)
Papers submitted for publication will be subjected to double—blind peer review.
The Journal of Children’s Rights and Family Law (CRFLJ) retains copyrights for all published manuscripts. Contributors shall receive notification of receipt of papers and, upon acceptance for publication, notification of acceptance via email provided below. All manuscripts should be submitted by email attachment to submissions.crflj@gmail.com
